The next CPLUG meeting is Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at ITT in Harrisburg. Nathan will be talking about Red Hat Linux Cluster Suite.
The next CPLUG meeting will be this Tuesday (3/8) at 6:30 PM at ITT in Harrisburg. Doug will be discussing IPv6. With the last of the 4.3 billion IPv4 addresses assigned in February, this is a timely topic. Come check it out!
See you then!
The slides from Tuesday’s talks on AVR Microcontrollers for the Linux User (PDF) and Physical Computing with Arduino & ZigBee are online. Enjoy!
Weather permitting, we are rescheduling the talks from last month to February. The meeting will be on Tuesday, 2/8/2011 at 6:30 PM.
Robert will be talking about the AVR. The AVR is a modified Harvard architecture 8-bit RISC single chip microcontroller which was developed by Atmel. There’s a great gcc toolchain for use in Linux.
John will be doing a follow-up to his previous Arduino (www.arduino.cc) talk. This time he’ll cover XBee wireless communication and connecting physical objects (e.g. toilets) to the Internet (e.g. Twitter).
It’s winter, so please watch the mailing list for updates on the day of the meeting.
Due to the upcoming snow, the January meeting is cancelled. We’ll see you in February!

One last reminder that tonight is the December meeting!
It’s our annual social geekery meeting — there won’t be any formal talks, just general geek chat and some food! Bring some junk food to share, and we’ll also order pizza. If you have any Linux questions, feel free to bring those as well!
Meeting details are here on the website: http://cplug.net/wp/meetings/
See you tonight!
Quick reminder that there is a meeting tonight at 6:30 PM at ITT. Lon will be discussing how to get the most out of your IRC and IM setups.

In place of the October monthly meeting, we have the Central PA Open Source conference on October 16th.
Don’t show up at ITT Tech on Tuesday; no one will be there!
The fun will be on Saturday, October 16th, where there will be 21 talks, 3 tracks, and 1 awesome day! There’s only a handful of tickets left, so be sure to sign up soon if you’d like to attend. You can sign up on the CPOSC website.
Also, there’s a social event at LBC on Friday night. Everyone is welcome! Sign up here on the wiki so we have a head count.
We look forward to seeing you there!
