Register by tomorrow for CPOSC t-shirt!

CPOSC 2009 is just 25 days away… October 17. It’ll be a day full of open source goodness, including three conference tracks and over twenty speakers.

If you register for the conference by tomorrow (Wednesday, 9/23) we’ll make sure you get a cool, official CPOSC 2009 t-shirt!

BSD night at CPLUG

We’re going to be exploring a bit of the BSD world at tonight’s meeting with two talks.

In the first talk, Brian will be going over his first impressions of OpenBSD 4.5.

Lon will be doing the second talk, going into both the history and usage of Apple’s OS X operating system.

CPOSC 2009 early access

We’re gearing up for this year’s Central PA Open Source Conference (CPOSC), which will be held on Saturday, October 17th at Harrisburg University. Tickets include include access to all three tracks including 21 awesome speakers, breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack break… and official CPOSC 2009 t-shirts for those who register by September 22!

The number of tickets available is limited based on the size of our venue, and last year tickets were sold out before the conference. So before the big announcements are made next week, we’re giving CPLUG members and friends a chance to register right now!

CPOSC is looking for sponsors!

The Central PA Open Source Conference (CPOSC) is a one-day technical conference for open source users and developers. Presentations and sessions cover all aspects of open source, with talks ranging from novice to expert skill levels.

This year?s conference will be held at Harrisburg University in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 17, 2009 and is expected to have 150 attendees.

Recent CPLUG meeting topics

In July the meeting topic was “Bringing best practices to the worst language: continuous integration for PHP”. Mark talked about the setup and use of Continuum, PHP-Unit, and Selenium for testing PHP applications.

The speaker for the August meeting was Seth, talking about Gnome-Do and KDE tips and tricks.

Meetings are always on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM. See you at the next one!
